Serge Ramelli
Los Angeles

A tribute to Los Angeles by YellowKorner photographer Serge Ramelli!
Not a travel guide, but an atmospheric potpourri of images of the Californian metropolis.
A book of contrasts: quiet and loud, colourful and black and white, hard and romantic.
This time Serge Ramelli dedicates himself to Los Angeles - the city of "angels" with the Spanish-Mexican influences remaining in its name, acronymically simply called L. A.. Despite its short history, it has made history like few other cities in the USA. One district, if not the most famous, is Hollywood, with its over one hundred year old film industry. Stars and starlets have always been at home there, as the luminous night sky that Ramelli captures in his night photographs suggests. A place of contrasts - and itself the setting for many film productions: enclosed to the east and north by mountains and bordering the San Fernando Valley, opening to the west and south to Santa Monica Bay and the Pacific Ocean. But Los Angeles has a lot more to offer than Paramount Pictures and a breathtaking city panorama: universities and museums, concert hall and opera, are on the educational-cultural side, aerospace on the economic. A place, or rather a region, that breathes all that is part of the American dream, such as luxury and freedom, with the accompanying symptoms of population density, crime and smog. Fascinatingly wicked and unbelievably beautifully staged by Yellow Korner star Serge Ramelli; a walk of fame in pictures.
