Innovative projects and forward-thinking urban planners are supposed to provide a remedy to prepare the growing cities for the future and make them liveable. "Urban Oases" is dedicated to more than 20 green projects for a better city life, covering topics such as the slow flower movement, the agricultural use of urban roofs, the greening of former industrial sites and the restoration of listed parks. From Berlin‘s Tempelhof Airport, now a thriving public space, to the former landfill site transformed into Cairo’s Al-Azhar Park, to Bangkok’s Thammasat University Urban Farm, the largest organic rooftop farm in Asia, the parks and projects featured in this visually stunning book are all inspiring.

"Urban Oasis" includes interviews with leading figures in their field such as the Central Park Climate Lab, the pioneer of today's guerrilla gardening movement Ron Finley, landscape architect Kotchakorn Voraakhom of the futuristic studio LANDPROCESS, and probably the world's best-known landscape gardener Piet Oudolf.
