For eternity: the first volume of the IconiCars series illuminates the many facets of an evergreen on four wheels with expert knowledge and exciting texts.

For the fanbase: this book is for all those who join 911 clubs and meet on 911 forums, for collectors and enthusiasts

For the eye: exciting archive photographs and impressive photos by René Staud (his bestseller The Porsche 911 Book sold over 30,000 copies) provide the external values.

To call it a legend is almost an understatement. After more than 50 years of model history, the one millionth Porsche 911 rolled off the production line in May 2017. The number of its fans is many times higher - because the "911" from Zuffenhausen is the epitome of the sports car. And predestined to wave the starting flag for the exciting teNeues book series IconiCars. Even the beginning of the story is worthy of myth.

On 12 September 1963, Porsche presented the 901 model at the IAA in Frankfurt. When series production began the following year, the 901 became the 911, as Peugeot had had all three-digit type designations with a zero in the middle protected. The design of the sports car, for which Ferdinand Alexander Porsche was responsible, provided the stuff of chrome dreams.

René Staud was born in Stuttgart in 1951. He started out shooting weddings and reportage before turning to product and advertising photography as his popularity grew. He quickly recognised the need for professional productions and opened his first studio in Stuttgart in 1975. This was soon followed by the open-plan studio in Wendlingen. His big breakthrough came in 1985 with the development of Magicflash®, a lighting system specially designed to meet the needs of studio photography. This innovative area lighting technology was his entry into automotive photography, which he still cultivates at the highest level today.
