Fabian Kahl, born in 1991 in Pößneck in the Orla Valley, Thuringia, is an antiques dealer who has become well-known through the ZDF show "Bares für Rares". His love for his profession was instilled in him by his father, an avid coin and antique dealer. When he was nine years old, his family bought Brandenstein Castle in Thuringia, which they extensively renovated and where Fabian still lives and runs an antiques business.

At a flea market in Leipzig, Kahl was approached by ZDF to take part in a new flea market show. His application was successful: He was selected from 150 applicants and has been on air since 2013 in the popular ZDF show "Bares für Rares." There, he stood out from the start as a likeable bird of paradise due to his age, unusual hairstyles and gothic style.

Since 2019, Fabian has been pursuing his second great passion: wildlife photography. In 2022, he successfully completed a state training as a safari guide in South Africa and spent a total of several months on the road as a photographer in various African countries. In the future, he would like to offer his own photo safaris together with an operator in Botswana.
