Job opportunity at teNeues: We are looking for a SALES DIRECTOR

TeNeues Publishing, a world renowned publisher of unique and high quality books and paper products, with the head office located in Germany, is looking to recruit a Sales Director to join its existing team in New York City. The Sales Director is responsible for the overall sales performance of the company’s book, calendar and stationery products businesses and manages relationships with retail accounts, distributors, and key marketing partners. The Sales Director is in charge of all North American sales and marketing efforts, and liaises with the publishers/owners, head office, and sister companies abroad. 

The successful candidate will be part of a small successful team and will be responsible for managing a portfolio of existing and new accounts. Key responsibilities will include:

• day-to-day liaison with key accounts including independent book and stationery accounts, chain stores, concept stores, wholesales, museums, and online retailers (Amazon.com, BN, flash sale sites) researching, negotiating and following up on sales opportunities
• reviewing and implementing new customer strategies
• attending sales meetings, book fairs, and conferences
• managing independent book and gift reps force
• market research
• involvement in product development
• participating in social media

You must have strong account management and sales experience in the publishing industry. 

You need exceptional relationship building skills, a great problem solving attitude, and proven customer service skills. You are a target driven and self-motivated individual with a strong desire to achieve. This is a unique, exciting and challenging role and will give you the opportunity to be part of a global organization. Some international travel may be required.

Must have a minimum of 5–8 years sales experience in the publishing industry to be considered.
